The Rotary Club of Hampton

We are a committed group of local business and professional people who want to make a difference in our community and in the world.

And this year, right here in Hampton, we'll be doing our bit as a part of the Rotary network. Things like

  • Promoting the value of "being a friend" in primary schools;
  • Creating an activity support program for ‘kids in care';
  • Working on a health program that can benefit all adults.
  • Coordinating and promoting ShelterBoxes to local Rotary clubs, community groups and schools. So far this year, in just our Rotary district over $150,000 has been contributed to this program.

Further away, our efforts mean we can directly support:

  • Indigenous students become health workers in their own communities;
  • Long term rebuilding of the communities in Tsunami effected areas;
  • Solar lighting for remote island villages where the only alternative is dangerous kerosene lamps (a ‘hands on' project for our members and friends);
  • Plastic surgery for cleft palates in areas where such surgery is beyond the means of local hospitals;
  • Re-roofing that is once again so desperately needed in Timor Leste;

More than just being a member of a local club, our Rotarians are a part of a much bigger picture. Rotary International is 1.2 million members in 32,000 clubs in 170 countries. Some meet for breakfast, some for lunch and others for dinner or drinks. These clubs are full of successful people who want to give a bit back.
