Back to Past ProjectsIn Honiara and still going strong!
This Siemens Dentists chair is 37 years strong and now serving in a second life in the Solomon Islands.
The Rotary Club of Hampton married the now obsolete chair from Hampton dentist, John Ladakis with a need for dental equipment to provide services in Solomon Island communities and called on Siemens, together with their local and international freight suppliers, to help make it possible.
The chair is in remarkably good shape for its years, and Siemens were confident that the chair had many more years of service still to come. The installation of the chair in Honiara took over 18 months to finalise – and the club commends past International Committee Chairs – Ted Sanderson and Lorraine Huddle (pictured above with Siemens staff) for their persistence in making this happen.
Everyone involved is delighted that we have helped bring improved dental services to the Solomon Islands. The Rotary club of Hampton thanks all those involved, especially Dr. Ladakis, Siemens, Direct Couriers and Danzas for their support of this project and the Rotary Club of Honiara which facilitated the local delivery of the chair.
