Friendship Awards

This is one of the clubs earliest and most successful projects - the awarding of peer selected ‘friendship awards’ at our local primary school. The award is for ‘being a friend’ - those qualities of caring, support, tolarance and sharing that we want to be a part of every child.

Each year, the students of year 5 select 2 recipients of the Award - a girl and a boy. These students receive a certificate and a book chosen especially for them and their name is recorded on an Honour Board at the School.

The club arranges a dinner where the awardees are asked to give a very short speech on ‘being a friend’. It is a night for their parents and our members to feel very proud of our next generation.
