The Hampton Street Spring Fashion Parade:

4th Annual Parade held on September 14th 2006:

2006: The Rotary Club of Hampton third annual Fashion Parade was held on Friday 1st September at the Hampton Community Hall. From the introductory words of compere Debbie Phin to the final flurry of models down the catwalk, it was an evening full of interesting sights and sounds.

As organisers Jenny Fox, Helen Perrett and Malcolm Baird agree, it was a great fundraiser for our club (final figure will be over $6000 raised) and as well, it was a great friend maker too. The participation of the Hampton Traders extended far beyond the fashion boutiques who displayed their latest spring fashions on our gorgeous local models. There was enormous support from many retailers in supplying prizes and sponsorship.

We would particularly acknowledge our major sponsors NAB, L’Erbolario, Barbecues Plus and Brown Cow. And of course, we would like to thank everyone - from the models and their dressers, the MOTTS theatre experts for assistance with the staging, light and sound, Debbie for her expert commentary and our singers from MOTTS and Olivia De Souza.

We know that many in our audience took advantage of the discounts available from our fashion retailers for the days following the parade. Certainly, the range of clothing and accessories presented curtesy of Beach Road, Galerie Solielo, The Coachman, Marc Gregory, Ellie’s, Syrup, Judy Hooper, Blue Illusion, Echo Sport, Urban Identity and Vintage Rose meant that all should find something to suit. And there is no better reason to shop than the desire to help community projects in Hampton and further afield!
