Fundraising - Events
The Rotary Club of Hampton is committed to service projects in our local community, within Australia and internationally. Sometimes, if we want to support a project - we need to raise funds. And like many clubs, Hampton has had many excellent occasions where we have raised funds and had a great time doing it. Another way we fundraise is by sourcing special offers - see below . . .

One of our ongoing fundraisers for Rotary projects is the collection of used stamps. Here is a thank you letter to our club and in particular Malcolm, for regularly droping them to Carol in Malvern.
"Carrol here, just with a message to thank you for your time and trouble on behalf of the DSF We are doing so well this year - have over $3000.00 already so I am hoping to raise the same during the following 6 months. With enthusiastic clubs like yours we are bound to suceed. Please thank all your Club Members for me. Special thanks to you. Best regards, Carrol"
The Hampton Street Spring Fashion Parade:
The Hampton Street Spring Fashion Parade Spring fashions are all the go in September at our fabulous annual fashion parade. Hampton traders - both the fashion retailers and beyond - support this event. It is always a very entertaining evening. This year we will ’strut our stuff’ on Friday September 14th at the St Leonard’s Hall.
For details of our other 2007 fundraising events, please see our club Calendar and Current event notes. . .
Bayside Open Homes and Gardens:
This was a chance to see behind the doors and walls of some of our local most spectacular homes. The club, in conjunction with Firbank Grammar School, ran a delightful afternoon with viewing available in 6 houses.
The event raised funds for our indigenous scholarships and other community projects of the club.
Dinners - Big Talkers and Bow Ties:
Some of our most memorable evenings have been our fundraising dinners. RC Hampton have organised many occasions - from dinners and dancing with a twist to dinners with high profile serious speakers.
These events have given us the opportunity to raise funds for designated projects. We rely on our community for support. If you would like to know when our next function is planned, please contact the club.
Theatre Nights:
Our club has one or two theatre nights each year. Recently we had a wonderful evening when members and friends attended a performance by the Brighton Theatre Company of Royce Ryton’s play “Crown Matrimonial”.
The specific objective of this evening were to raise funds for our GordonCare project, and to have fun. $20 a head provided an excellent play, wine, port, tea, coffee and excellent food, plus the opportunity to meet and mix with the actors.
Silver Hook Award:
Our annual trivia /challenge is always a great sucess raising over $4000 annually for our community projects. The Rotary club of Cheltenham are the holders of the Silver Hook 2006 after a lively night grappling with quizmaster Greg Wragg’s ‘interesting’ questions. . . Ummmm
